EP1 Red Speaking English at Home (June 2011)

Chaz Teacher

Dear EP1 VCIS Parents/guardians,

All of us here at the English Programme Department at Varee Chiangmai International School are extremely proud of the progress all of our children are making especially with regards to speaking English at all times within the classroom.

The children of EP1 are essentially being immersed into a daily educational routine which not only allows them to learn new words and concepts in English but also allows them to naturally increase their own confidence in using the English language amongst their friends and teachers.

We sincerely hope that you are seeing the progress all the children are making however, it would be even better if parents would for only as little as 5 minutes a day encourage their child to speak in English to them on a one to one basis. We certainly assure you that you will not be disappointed.

Speaking in English at home will not only allow parents to see to a degree what their child is learning in the classroom but more importantly will instil a sense of pride and achievement in their child which, in turn will motivate him/her to learn with even more eagerness within the EP1 classroom.

So it would be great if all EP1 parents would please encourage their child to speak in English for just a few moments a day with them, even if the child in question is naturally shy.

Your child’s English development does not have to remain solely within the confines of the English Programme 1 classroom.

As always if you have any questions or comments regarding your child’s English development than please do not hesitate to approach me personally.

I look forward to talking to you.

Kind regards…………………..Teacher Chaz.
